Italy’s FM summons Iran’s envoy over Tehran’s protests repression
The protests in Iran have been fueled by severe economic deterioration and a historic collapse of the national currency. While there are no official casualty figures, US-based rights group HRANA estimates that over 2,000 people, including both security forces and protesters, have been killed, more than 1,000 injured, and at least 10,721 people detained across 585 locations in all 31 provinces.
