Oil deliveries from Russia to Hungary, Slovakia resume after Ukraine’s attacks

(MENAFN) Oil deliveries from Russia to Hungary and Slovakia via the Druzhba pipeline have resumed following disruptions from recent Ukrainian attacks, officials confirmed. The pipeline, a crucial energy lifeline spanning over 4,000 km, has been repeatedly targeted in recent weeks.

Slovak Economy Minister Denisa Sakova confirmed the repairs on Wednesday, expressing hope for stable operations and no further attacks. Hungarian oil company MOL reported that crude was once again reaching refineries in both countries, though specific volumes were not disclosed.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto described the pipeline damage as “severe” but noted Moscow had implemented a temporary solution, allowing deliveries to resume in a limited “test mode.” Both Hungary and Slovakia criticized the strikes, calling them a threat to energy security and denouncing EU claims that there is “no supply risk.”
